Home of the Orlando Magic Dancers

Stella Luca is proud to have been selected as the official "Home of the Orlando Magic Dancers".  This partnership with one of the NBA's top dance teams has been nothing short of amazing.  As our formal relationship began, we were honored with a seat on the judges panel to help select the 2011-2012 season team members. 

Since they represent one of the best teams in the NBA, and the city of Orlando as a whole, we already knew that they had to look great ALL the time.  We quickly realized how incredibly busy these talented women really are.  With a schedule filled with community events, charity events, corporate events, photo shoots, and other appearances; it's hard to imagine how they find time to practice and cheer on the Magic at 34 home games.  We also quickly realized how gracious this organization is to work with.  Without exception, they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.  They truly love what they do and we love helping them look great while they do it. 

 

 

Stella Luca Stylists Ready for NBA All-Star Weekend

SO many big performers, celebrities, VIPS and athletes will be at the NBA All-Star events next week that our stylists are going to have to move faster than the players.

 

The official NBA All-Star events will include performances by: Mary J. Blige, Pitbull, Nicki Minaj, will.i.am, Flo Rida, J. Cole, Common, Ne-Yo, Gym Class Heroes, and more.  Beyond that, the events will bring more big celebrities than Orlando has ever seen at one time.

 

The stylists from Stella Luca will be right in the middle of it all.  We'll be styling the Dancers & performers at the Amway Center and the Convention Center and helping with private league, celebrity, and VIP events taking place over the weekend. In short, a lot of people need to look great and we've been selected as the go-to salon to make it happen. 

 

Stylists participating in the events include:   Demarco Mireles, Danielle Schmitz, Jesse Yeager, Michael Rains, Ashley Michels, Kristin Lytell, Joy Ulman, Erin Douglas, Jenna Small, CJ Burkey, Teresa Kim, and Sarah Wagensomer.  

 

Orlando Magic Dancers Help Open Voting for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game

The Orlando Magic Dancers helped kick off the 2012 NBA All-Star Game.  Orlando All-Star hopefuls Hedo Turkoglu, Dwight Howard, Jason Richardson, and Jameer Nelson, along with Patrick Ewing and the Magic Dancers announced, live on NBA TV, that voting has officially begun.  The Dancers were styled by Stella Luca's Danielle Schmitz, Demarco Mireles, & Joy Ulman. 

 

Don't forget to vote for our Orlando players!  Vote now, vote often.

Behind the Scenes 1st Photo Shoot

September 1st was another eventful day for the Orlando Magic Dancers and Stella Luca stylists (Demarco, Danielle, Jesse, Kristin, Michael, and Ashley) as they each took costume portraits.

Before the dancers posed for the professional photos, however, OrlandoMagic.com & Stella Luca snapped some pictures of the dancers to give you a behind the scenes look at the entire process.  Between hair, makeup and photography, the shoot lasted nearly nine hours.

Magic Dancer Makeovers

Before they perform in front of 19,000 screaming fans, each dancer has to look perfect.  The team visited our salons for cut, color, highlights, & hair extensions.  With the help of our stylists, each dancer selected a look that they will maintain for the entire 2011-2012 season.  Stella Luca stylists Demarco, Danielle, Jesse, Kristin, Michael, Ashley, and Joy each participated in the makeovers.  Orlando Magic photographers and video crew documented the whole process.  Here are a few of the photos.  We can't wait for the video!
